The post-jam, fixed version is up ๐
I said I'd tweak it, and tweak it I did.
First up, as mentioned in an earlier DevLog, I had already solved the theme music looping issue present in the original jam build
Other tweaks include:
- Tidying up some background graphic errors
- Adding shading to the bunks scene
- Stopping the player character from marching on the spot in the event of triggering a dialogue box while in motion
- Having the player move offscreen when "exiting stage down"
- Moving certain event triggers which I had felt were positioned too close to the player's starting position in any given scene. I had found these had a jarring effect on the pacing, and the overall experience feels smoother for granting the player more room to move
- Fixing a previously mentioned error involving the wave ambience sound in certain scenes
- Adjusting the timings for certain events
I nearly added a marker to the unlockable guitar tab scene which would move from note to note as the theme music played, but I couldn't get it to work as intended, so more research is needed in that area.
(Oh? You don't know about the unlockable guitar tab scene? You need to tap back to the title screen after completing the game once ๐)

The browser version is the updated version, and the updated roms have been added to the available downloads, but I'm leaving the original jam versions up too, for posterity or something. Enjoy!
