That's still summer, after all... ๐Ÿค”

So anyway, I took a little break from the Summer build of Scantily to work on this slice of gallows humour for a game jam... and I guess I enjoyed the departure a lot because I followed that up with a spontaneous and completely different project which should be dropping in the next couple of days - just needs playtesting and chiptune ambience ๐Ÿ‘

Then it's back to the Summer Build - once again, it's only the Gallery Images that need completing, then it's good to launch ๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿ‘

And hoo-boy, has this process ever taught me something about how I prefer to work...! ๐Ÿ˜ต

Last year's output was mostly game jam entries, which of course meant deadlines, but it also meant massively varied output which kept things fresh from a creative standpoint. With Scantily I made the decision to make one game with a series of themed, timed updates, effectively creating my own deadlines, only this time working on the one project. The end results are great, but I'm finding the workflow less interesting, and I'm thinking the self-imposed deadlines are what's doing that; if the release schedule was more loose, ie more of a it's done when it's done kind of framework, I'd be dipping into more little side projects along the way, coming back to the main one feeling fresher for the breaks.

As it stands, I chose this, I'm absolutely going to see it through, and it's not as if I'm not having fun with it - Scantily's a game in which a big-boobed MILF boobs boobily, what's not to like? - but I'm highly unlikely to do the seasonal updates thing again after this one. Or not for a long while at any rate.

Besides, Morag's been portrayed in full 3D only once so far, so I really need to fix that at some point... ๐Ÿค”
