punch

A maverick entry for A Game By Its Cover 2023, made in GB Studio and based on this entry by KAITO HAYASHI for this year's Famicase Exhibition.

"Maverick"? Welp, yeah: there's a problem with this entry...

In accordance with this advisory vis-a-vis both obtaining consent from and appropriately crediting the original artist, I'm having trouble finding the original creator in order to reach out. To that end, I'm uploading this entry anyway while I try to find out how to get in contact with them. I'm braced for the possibility that it might get removed from the jam; no hard feelings on my part if that's the case ๐Ÿ˜Œ

Also:

Yes, the punch animation is made out of modified Doom sprites ๐Ÿ‘Š

wow! i can only imagine how you pulled this off with GB Studio...really impressive!

If I'm remembering correctly, it's one variable to track map position, one to track direction, and a heck of a lot of the "Camera Move To" event. Thankyouverymuch ๐Ÿ˜

Oh hey, I've just seen that you're part of flower studio ๐Ÿ‘

Haven't checked out Dead Names yet, but Shoot-Out! and The Melting Apartment were great! ๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿ‘

whoa, thank you so much ๐Ÿ™

and thanks for the info! i only recently discovered how useful "camera move to" can be to get around GB Studio's fade out function for pacing (and for jump scares lol)
