A downloadable prototype for Windows

ALIENS: Hunted (discontinued prototype)

A very bare-bones prototype for a fangame set in the Aliens universe, made in Easy FPS Editor, and using mostly existing assets pulled from a variety of sources, the majority featuring additional modifications by myself, with only environmental textures and the aliens themselves appearing "neat".

I intend to come back to this further down the line, although any future builds will be made in Godot instead for greater flexibility.

Assets used:

  • Weapon Sprites based on graphics from Alien Trilogy, originally modified by Joey TD, Angel-Neko_X, Deimos Anomaly and Eriance, with additional modifications by me.
  • Weapon Pick-up Sprites and most Ammo Pick-ups sourced from random image searches (apologies to image owners; I didn't keep track of my sources for these...).
  • Other Ammo Pick-ups, plus Grenade projectiles, Explosions, Standing Lamps, Keys and Health Items based on graphics from Doom 64.
  • Flamethrower projectile graphics and additional font sprites based on assets from Alien³ for Super Nintendo.
  • Human corpses from Blood and Powerslave.
  • Crosshair and HUD icons based on graphics from Aliens Online.
  • Xenomorphs taken from Alien Trilogy.
  • Wall and Floor textures taken from Alien Trilogy.
  • Menu Background Image is a wallpaper from hiveseeker.com
  • Aliens: Hunted logo and HUD numbers by me.
  • Sounds mainly sourced from Aliens: Infestation except for "marine_stim_inject_01" from Aliens Vs Predator (2010) and door sound from the movie Aliens.

Music:

  • Elliot Goldenthal, Bishop Turned On from Alien³
  • Jed Kurtzel, The Med Bay from Alien Covenant

Additional note: I kept getting fatal errors whenever I tried exporting using Easy FPS Editor's "build and pack" option, so I tried "build without packing" and everything worked fine. In turn, for the curious among you, this means the whole project and its various components are available for your perusal. Enjoy! 👍

I'm working on other fangames, as well as original material. You can check out some of my other fan projects here:

Today was my birthday; 51 years old! I found this last night and looked forward to all day to play. This is amazing! I remember as a kid watching Aliens at the movies with my father. This prototype as amazing!!! Thank you!!

Thank you very much!

I've got a few ideas for other Aliens-related projects, so watch this space... 👍

I like Alien Trilogy on PlayStation, and your prototype was cool too =)

Thank you very much! 😁

This was fantastic! The mechanics worked perfectly and the difficulty was just right. We hope you continue working on this like you said. It defiantly felt and played like an old fps. You got Lil Beef to say he enjoyed a first-person shooter which is no small feat. Keep up the good work!

That was a fun watch, cheers guys!

I've got a bunch of projects in the pipeline (or rather, I've given myself a ton of homework... 😅), so I can't guarantee when the next incarnation of this one will happen, but it's too solid a foundation not to come back to; watch this space I guess... 👍
